Helping People Who've Made Mistakes
Mr. Bridgman speaks about good people who get into bad situations.
Many people find themselves in situations that they never would have expected. Even with some very serious offenses, you find people who made a mistake or are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Those are people I like to help. I find that many, very good people wind up in a position that they never would have expected and the consequences are severe. The collateral consequences in particular, they can lose their job, they can lose their license, there may be immigration issues, and it could be family law consequences. I look at the case in a totality and I try to look at all the different implications that a conviction would have and I look for solutions. Sometimes it's a matter of reducing the sentence, sometimes it's a matter of changing the charge, and there are numerous things that can be done when you have experience.
